Rest well, Cohost.org
I thought I might as well write a little something before October 1st.
Unfortunately, I never really used cohost beyond browsing and following some people who I wanted to see things from. I created my account during a time where I really had no social media presence, but I thought this site seemed interesting with the way it shifted the focus away from likes or analytics or engagement. It has/had an overall "just hanging out" kind of vibe that I really haven't seen anywhere else (at least in the way it was done here). It was comfy, and I can tell so many people felt the same way, too.
I wish I had used it more, although perhaps the sadness of the site shutting down would be increased tenfold if I had ^^; Regardless, for a brief moment in time, social media felt fun again in a way that it hasn't felt in years, and I appreciated that.
I've been working on practicing HTML and CSS in the hopes to make my own personal website, because there just aren't many social platforms that I feel I want to be a part of anymore. It's been fun! Though, it's also been tough and a bit strenuous at times, as is the case with learning any new skill. I hope I'll make something that I really feel proud of someday!
